National Call Center for Homeless Veterans

Veterans experiencing homelessness — or at risk of it — can speak with trained VA counselors 24/7.  📞 Call (877) 4AID VET or (877-424-3838) for free, confidential support and guidance.

The VA coordinates with HUD-VASH to seek available housing for homeless Veterans.  HUD-VASH is a collaborative program that pairs HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance with VA case management and supportive services. These services are designed to help homeless Veterans and their Families obtain permanent housing and access the health care, mental health treatment, and other supports necessary to help them improve their quality of life and maintain housing over time.

Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV)

The HCHV program connects homeless Veterans with:

• VA healthcare services,
• Mental health and substance use treatment,

If you are a Veteran who is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless due to financial hardship, unemployment, addiction, depression, or transition from jail, the VA health care can help you. Contact a VA Rep homeless services care coordinator to get help with: Immediate food and shelter, including both transitional and permanent housing, job training, life skills development, education, support with justice system navigation and community re-entry from jail, financial support to prevent homelessness, treatment for addiction and depression, health and dental care.
